Meet Jennifer

Jennifer Dillon received her BA in Political Science from Tufts University in 1993.

Through high school and college, she worked at Dover Saddlery, the leading equestrian catalog company in the U.S.  After Jennifer graduated, the company created a management position and asked her to stay on in a full-time capacity.  While at the catalog and retail operation, Jennifer learned many skills necessary to working in a small but fast-growing company.

Jennifer worked at Dover Saddlery for 8 years after graduation.  During her entire time at Dover she worked in the warehouse, in the phone center, and in the purchasing department.  She supervised small teams and helped run multiple departments.  For a time, she was responsible for training all incoming customer service representatives.  In the purchasing department, she analyzed sales trends, selected product for the catalog and retail store, and managed over $1 million of inventory.  Jennifer believes that she discovered her problem solving skills during these years.

After getting married and starting a family, Jennifer was ready for a change.  She left Dover Saddlery and took 6 months to find the next perfect job.

She accepted what began as a part-time job working for a Certified Financial Planner who had a growing practice and an overwhelmed assistant.  In the almost 6 years Jennifer worked in this particular Commonwealth Financial Network branch office, the registered representative’s book of business grew from $83 million to $238 million.  Her work here included interacting with clients, tracking investments, streamlining repetitive processes without losing the personal touch clients had come to expect, preparing reports, and funneling information to the CFP.

While working for the financial planner, Jennifer developed confidence in her business sense and problem solving skills.  It was during this time that she first heard of Virtual Assistance, and she began to see herself as a business owner.

So, in 2007, Jennifer enrolled in AssistU’s Virtual Training Program and created Collaborative Connections.  The launching of Jennifer’s practice marked the formal recognition of the support and assistance she has offered friends and family in the development and growth of their own businesses and projects.

“I have helped those close to me discover, define, and achieve their goals, both personal and professional in nature.  Through Collaborative Connections I partner and work with clients to help them achieve their dreams.”

Jennifer lives in Franklin, Massachusetts, with her husband and son.  Jennifer is an avid equestrian and owns a lovely Dutch Warmblood that she hopes to compete this coming year.
